What's New

The game is on!

Okay, here it is, Pacific Rim's double header of big news. So we have two things going on here.

First things first. We here at Pacific Rim believe the recession is OVER! As many of you know in 2009 we didn't exactly stock a ton of high end bikes. But our caution payed off, and now as they say "It's on"

So last week we recieved a huge shipment of "Cool bikes" We got Norco Shore's, Fluid Lt's, 125's, Rydes, Havoc's, Haro Xeons, Reserve's, Threads, you name it we got it, or can get it. Come on in and drool over some very, very rad bikes, heck we even brought in road bikes!

And secondly, we've begun our "Jack be nimble, Jack be quick" sales promotion. We have a huge sale on some awesome XC bikes, just as an example, Norco Nitro's on for $1199 (reg $1550), and the Charger on for $959 (reg $1195). These are just two examples, I will have much more info, pictures and Newspaper ads in the next few days.

Seriously, if you are in the market for a wicked deal on a XC bike, or the newest cutting edge bike come on in!!

Keep an eye on the website as constant updates will be posted.

Congrats to Al and Clair, baby girl making machines. Well, it's official. Part time summer employee Al and his wife Clair had a baby girl. Sarah James (can't remember the middle name, oh well!) was born last sunday and wieghed somewhere around 7 or 8 pounds. Congrats you two, enjoy the run bike!

The final Chapter

The end of an epic adventure. Well it's over, a blur of a trip. I won't be redundant, so just read my rant!

But it's over, I'm sad, and am already stoked to go back next year.

Oh yeah, on my flight back I shared the plane with Dick Cox, Elladee Brown, and Andrew Shandro. Yeah, we're tight.

Viva Las Vegas!

Vegas Chapter 4

Hoover Dam, and a big dam hangover. Well, well, well, urban legend say's it's almost impossible to get a hangover in Vegas. Oxygen pumping into the hotels, no clocks, blah, blah, blah...you can get a hangover trust me.

So we decided to escape the madness and check out Hoover Dam, definetly worth doing once. Very impresssive, but don't spend the extra 3 bucks for the extra value tour.

By 3 o'clock the pool was calling (and ofcourse the drink) so needless to say it was time to PARTAY!

Some people never learn, but it was our last day so as they say it was time to Git-R-Done!

Vt tyler Hamiltonegas chapter 3

Interbike Strikes and Bobby Flay, all in one day. well today is the big day, Interbike. Abike geeks nirvana. If it's bike related, it's here.

So what are some of the things we saw, and who are some of the people we met?

-Met Tinkwe Jaurez (awesome, most of you reading this don't know him, but those who know, know!)
-Saw and held a Delta 7 bike/fraqme
-Saw Brian Lopes
-Got tons of free stuff
-Ate a wicked hot dog
-Met and got signatures from Darren Beaarclaw, Paul B.
-Met Tyler Hamilton, Ryder Hesjanal, Fast Freddie Rodrigez, and Carlos Sastre
-Got Bomber girl autographs
-More insane bike stuff than you know what to do with.

And then.....
-Saw Heather Grahem
-Ate at a Bobby Flay retraunt
-got hevily intoxicaed and removed from a Coyote Ugly bar.

Another great day in Vegas!

Vegas Chapter 2

A day in the life of Ryan and Tanya in Las Vegas. Well, obviously I survived the flight! So what do the Simpsons (third person sounds cool for this story) do? Well, they say when in Rome, do as the Romans.

In point form, here is a breakdown of our first full day in Vegas. (I'm going to be vague on purpose leaving you all with many question, and I gaurantee everything I say is 100% true)

Here ya go!
- We stayed up till 3:30 a.m.
-I touched a real live stingray
-I ate 3 different animals at breakfast (pork, beef, and chicken)..awesome!
-We saw a lion, and a lioness
-We saw swordfish, loads of sharks, and sea turtles in a tunnel aquarium
-I held a human brain, and liver...eww!
-I touched a skinned human cadaver (not supposed to but I just had to!)
-I saw Dave Watson watching Pussy Cat Doll's pole dancers (not that I was looking)
-I had mini Duck taco's
-I drank mojitos from a giant porcelin hula girl
-We saw a pair of womens high heels that sold for $995
-And last but not least, I bought a Darth Vader beer stein for $14.95

All this and I haven't even made it to interbike!

Oh yeah, the slot machines haven't been kind!

I hate flying!

As an adult (when
I was a kid, Stephen Kings This is part one of my Vegas, "Interbike" debut!

As an adult (when
I was a kid, Stephen Kings "It" was at par), nothing scares me more than flying!

So!... the flight from Victoria to Vancouver was Hell! In my mind the turbulance (satans own creation) was at an all time high! The fact that the plane seemed to drop 30-40 feet at a time didn't seem to bother anyone but me was even more troublesome!

Never the less, we arrived safe and sound in Vegas by 5 pm.

I just realized it's 2:45 a.m. and I have Interbike tommorow a.m. so check back soon as I will have tons of cool pics in the gallery tomorow as wel as some cool/crazy stories!

Ryan
.

We just recieved 40 run bikes. Norco, Adams, girls and boys. We just recieved over 40 run bikes for X-mas. $89-$99

Don't wait, they are actually going quite fast.

Top 20

P.R.B. is super stoked to announce we are one of the top 20. We here at Pacific Rim are proud to announce that we were named on of the top 20 Norco dealers in B.C.? Nope, all of Canada. Yep little ol' Pacific Rim Bicycle from Nanaimo B.C. population 79,000 is up there with the likes of Toronto, Edmonton, Montreal, Vancouver, and Calgary dealers. So, what does this mean, this means that Bob and Dorothy (notice the lack of Ryan) got a sweet all inclusive paid trip to Whistler for 3 days of test riding all the 2009 bikes on the likes A-line and dirt merchant. Once again, notice the lack of Ryan on this adventure.

Anyways, thanks to all of you for helping us become one of Canada's top twenty.

New store mascot.

PRB is proud to introduce to you our new store mascot Calvin. Hey everyone, I would like to introduce you all to PRB's newest mascot, Calvin The Cow.

If you buy meat from Pipers Meat Market (hands down the finest meat in Nanaimo), there's a chance you may have enjoyed Calvin. So feel free to stop by and say hi to Calvin, legend has it that if you rub his nose three times, your next ride will be one of the best

How old is your helmet?

Next time you throw on your helmet ask yourself how old is it? Did you know your helmet has a life expectancy, even if you've never crashed with it.

You bet, both Bell and Giro recomend you replace your lid every three to four years. A simple ploy to sell you more helmets right? No sir, there is actualy a techncal reason, the foam breaks down (damn UV)thus loosing it's structural strength.

Helmet companies don't sell replacement pads for a reason aswell. Their theory is if your helmet is so old the padding has dissintigrated it's time for a new helmet.

And last but not least, the new helmets are lighter, more comfy, and better vented than the older ones. So come try one on, and treat your mellon to a new bucket.
